Pune relocations divide sharply between the older core and the IT corridors. Moving within Koregaon Park, Camp, or Deccan means narrow lanes, old buildings, and frequent lift-free walkups. Moving within Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner, or Kharadi means large gated societies with strict move-in windows, security gate documentation, and mandatory goods-lift booking. Our Pune operations run from our Wakad headquarters, which puts our crews within reach of the Mumbai–Bangalore highway corridor and the western suburbs where most IT relocations originate.
Pune-specific advice: Book your society's goods lift at least three days ahead. Most Pune societies restrict moving hours to between 9 AM and 6 PM, and several prohibit Sunday moves entirely. Ask your society office for the NOC format before your move date.
Mumbai is the hardest relocation market in India, and anyone who tells you otherwise has not worked here. Vertical living, restricted truck timings, narrow society approaches, and monsoon season combine into a genuinely difficult operating environment. Truck entry into large parts of the city stays restricted during daytime hours, which pushes loading and unloading into night windows. Our Mumbai crews plan around those windows as standard rather than treating them as an exception.
Mumbai-specific advice: Confirm whether your building allows a truck up to the entrance or requires a hand-carry from the compound gate. That single detail can change your labour cost significantly. Avoid scheduling moves during peak monsoon weeks if you have any flexibility.

Bangalore's relocation volume runs year-round rather than seasonally, because the tech workforce moves on hiring cycles rather than academic ones. Whitefield, Sarjapur Road, Electronic City, and the Outer Ring Road corridor generate the bulk of demand. Traffic dictates everything. A ten-kilometre move inside Bangalore can consume more crew hours than a hundred-kilometre move elsewhere, so we schedule Bangalore local moves to start early, typically loading before 8 AM.
Bangalore-specific advice: Apartment complexes here enforce move-in rules strictly, and many require an NOC from the association plus proof of maintenance dues cleared. Start that paperwork a week out.
WhitefieldElectronic City
Hyderabad's growth corridor runs along HITEC City, Gachibowli, Kondapur, and Financial District in the west, and Kompally, Medchal, and Suchitra in the north. The two zones behave differently. The west skews toward high-rise apartments with organised facility management, the north toward independent houses and gated villa communities. Our Hyderabad teams handle both, but the crew composition differs: villa moves need more manpower for staircases and garden furniture, while high-rise moves need lift coordination and trolley equipment.

Delhi NCR functions as four distinct markets: Delhi proper, Gurgaon, Noida, and Ghaziabad–Faridabad. Each has separate entry regulations, and interstate movement between them triggers documentation that people routinely underestimate. Delhi enforces commercial vehicle entry restrictions during daytime hours across much of the city, Gurgaon and Noida high-rises enforce society gate protocols, and winter fog affects transit timing on northern corridors between late December and early February.
Delhi NCR-specific advice: If you are moving between NCR states, say Noida to Gurgaon, treat it as an interstate move for documentation purposes even though the distance is short.
Chennai relocations concentrate around the OMR corridor, Velachery, Anna Nagar, and the Ambattur industrial belt. The coastal humidity of the city matters more than people realise: electronics, wooden furniture, and documents need moisture-barrier packing that inland cities do not need. Northeast monsoon season, roughly October through December, brings flooding risk in low-lying areas, so we adjust routing and sometimes recommend rescheduling.
Chennai-specific advice: Ask for moisture-resistant wrapping on wooden furniture and any paper archives. It costs marginally more and prevents a common category of damage.
Kolkata combines dense old neighbourhoods with newer Salt Lake and Rajarhat developments. The older areas present the narrowest access of any major Indian city, and many North Kolkata addresses cannot accommodate anything larger than a small commercial vehicle.
Kolkata-specific advice: Measure your staircase width and turning landing before booking. Large wardrobes and refrigerators frequently need dismantling or crane hoisting in older Kolkata buildings.
Gujarat's two largest relocation markets run on business rather than IT cycles. Ahmedabad sees heavy commercial and industrial movement alongside household shifting, while Surat's textile and diamond trade generates specialised commercial relocations. Summer heat in Gujarat is extreme between April and June, which affects both crew productivity and heat-sensitive goods such as candles, cosmetics, and some electronics.
Ahmedabad-specific advice: Schedule summer moves for early morning loading. Keep heat-sensitive items in a separately labelled carton that travels with you rather than in the truck.
Surat
Tier-two cities are where relocation service quality varies most, because organised operators thin out. Visakhapatnam, Indore, Nagpur, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Kochi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, and Ranchi all generate steady relocation demand that local operators serve inconsistently. Vizag-specific advice: Ask any tier-two operator whether your consignment travels direct or gets consolidated at a hub. Transhipment is where damage and delay accumulate on smaller routes.
Every corridor has its own transit time, its own permit profile, and its own seasonal risk. Here are the routes we run most.
The shortest high-volume corridor we operate. The expressway makes transit trivial; the difficulty sits entirely at the Mumbai end, where truck timing restrictions and building access govern the schedule. We typically load in Pune during the morning and unload in Mumbai during the permitted evening window.
A steady corridor driven by IT workforce movement in both directions. The route runs through Satara, Kolhapur, Belgaum, and Hubli on well-maintained highway. Monsoon affects the Western Ghats section between June and September, adding a day in heavy rain.
One of India's highest-volume trunk routes. Interstate permits across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Haryana apply. Winter fog north of Jaipur can add transit time between late December and early February.
A short, reliable corridor on good highway. Volume runs heavily in both directions on tech hiring cycles. This route rarely presents transit complications; the planning effort goes into society access at both ends.
A long-haul route crossing multiple states. We move these consignments in dedicated containers rather than shared loads wherever the volume justifies it, because transhipment on long routes is where damage and delay accumulate.
Straightforward highway movement. The main planning consideration is the humidity change, because goods packed in coastal Chennai humidity need proper moisture barriers even for a short transit.

Regulations and safety prohibit some items. We will not carry LPG cylinders, petrol, kerosene, paint thinner, firearms, ammunition, explosives, illegal substances, or perishable food on long routes. Jewellery, cash, and critical documents should travel with you personally, not because we distrust our crews, but because no insurance policy adequately covers them.
Insurance is the part of packing and moving services that customers understand least and need most. Here is exactly what each type covers.
Two coverage types exist, and the difference matters.
Transit insurance covers loss or damage arising from specified transit perils such as accident, fire, overturning, and collision. It does not cover handling damage that occurs during packing, loading, or unloading.
All-risk coverage extends to handling damage and covers the full journey from packing to placement. It costs more, and it is what we recommend for any move involving significant fragile inventory.
You declare the value of your goods, the premium is calculated as a percentage of that declared value, and the policy issues before loading. Under-declaring to save premium is a mistake, because claims settle proportionally against declared value.
We publish this process because a company that hides its claims procedure does not intend to honour claims.
Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt before the crew leaves. This is the single most important step. Sign a clean receipt and you weaken your claim substantially.
For damage discovered during unpacking, notify our claims desk within 48 hours of delivery, in writing, at the address on your invoice.
Photograph the damaged item and its packing material. The packing material matters, because it evidences how the item was protected.
Provide the invoice, the inventory list, the delivery receipt, photographs, and either a purchase receipt or a repair estimate for the damaged item.
A surveyor assesses the claim. For lower-value claims we frequently settle on documentation alone.
We communicate the settlement decision with reasoning. If we decline a claim, we explain why in writing rather than going silent.
Do not pack your own fragiles. Our operational data shows customer-packed fragile items fail far more often than crew-packed ones. If you have already boxed things, tell the supervisor and we will repack the fragile cartons at no additional cost, which brings them back inside cover.
Work backwards from your move date. Each phase below assumes the one before it is done.
Get quotations from three companies after survey. Check your society or landlord's notice requirements. Start decluttering, because you pay to move volume and every carton you do not move saves money.
Confirm your booking and pay the advance. Begin using up frozen and perishable food. Collect school records, medical records, and pet vaccination certificates. Arrange your society NOC and goods-lift booking at both ends.
Inform your bank, insurance providers, employer's HR department, and subscription services about your change of address. Arrange utility disconnections and reconnections, along with internet and gas services. Service your car if it is travelling by carrier.
Pack an essentials bag with medication, chargers, documents, a change of clothes, basic toiletries, and bedsheets. This travels with you. Defrost the refrigerator 24 hours ahead. Confirm the crew arrival time and the supervisor's phone number.
Walk the supervisor through the home before packing starts. Identify fragile and valuable items. Stay accessible but keep out of the crew's work area. Check the inventory list against your goods before signing. Photograph the loaded truck and note the truck number and driver contact.
Check the seal on the vehicle before unloading. Tick off each item on the inventory as it comes in. Note visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing. Direct furniture placement while the crew is still present, because moving a wardrobe afterwards is your problem, not theirs.
Complete unpacking of essentials. Update your address on official documents. Register with a local doctor. Test all appliances and report any faults within the 48-hour claims window.

Indian relocation runs on patterns that almost nobody documents. Real estate portals publish rental data. Logistics associations publish freight tonnage. Nobody publishes what actually happens to a family when they move from Pune to Bangalore. So we built a study.
We surveyed households and corporate relocation managers who completed relocations within the preceding eighteen months. We collected responses through post-move telephone interviews and a structured online questionnaire, and we stratified the sample across income bands, city tiers, and move distances. We excluded responses from customers who moved with InterCity Packers and Movers, to avoid selection bias in the service-quality questions.
